If the last time, were the last time,
And you had known that then.
Would you have had the strength
To do what you did then?
If the last time, were the last time,
Where would you want to be?
I’m not sure that it would matter,
As long as you were there with me.
If the last time, were the last time,
Would it hurt to say goodbye?
I’m not sure that I could leave,
I know I couldn’t even try.
If the last time, were the last time,
Would the world just cease to be?
At the time you had to leave us,
When your body set you free.
I can’t bring myself to say it,
It’s just to much to bear.
The first, but not the last time,
That I’ve realised you’re not there.
