Cinquain – Bliss
Not cold,
but fast asleep.
Waiting for spring to kiss
for now your slumber carries on
in bliss.

Today I am taking part in my third poetry marathon, an annual event in which poets from around the world come together writing one poem per hour for 24 hours using a variety of written and visual prompts.
Hour 10 Through a quirk of fate and tired eyes I have accidentally completed Hour 11 before Hour 10. Not to worry though, I’ll go back and do the skipped hour before moving into the next. Almost at the halfway point and I am ready for my first coffee since I started at 2pm…I have a feeling it will not be my last tonight.
I always really enjoy these prompts, and try to use all of the suggested words in the order they are given. This is an extra challenge to this prompt and it always creates an interesting narrative within the finished poem.
Haiku – Winter
Do you like it here?
Amongst the frost and the snow,
where a cold wind blows.

You can also see my own Hour 10 poem here:
Fib – Snow
Slow,
calm,
softly
drift with me
like a fresh snow-flake
which has joined a vast blank canvas.
