Musical Inspiration

If you find writing when it is quiet difficult, but find traditional music equally difficult to write to, why not write along to this ambient piece written specifically for this hour’s prompt. Each hour during this marathon has a unique, and original track which accompanies each prompt composed and created by Composer, and Modular Artist Paul James specifically for this event.

  1. Pantoum – Decade

I am not the person I was at that time

    already broken, barely back together

still a little lost, but ready to climb

from youth not yet completely severed.

    Already broken, barely back together

but I had not learned how not to fall apart,

from youth not yet completely severed

I wandered aimless still lost within the dark.

No, I had not learned how not to fall apart,

but could still pick up the pieces if I tried.

I wandered aimless, still lost within the dark,

I wanted to, but could never feel enough to cry.

I could still pick up the pieces if I tried,

but now I leave them lying on the ground.

I wanted to, but could never feel enough to cry,

instead I hoped that soon I would be found.

Now, I sit still crying on the ground.

I am not the person I was at that time,

I gave up on hoping to be found,

still a little lost, but ready to climb.
